Original Arabic text
Published English translation
4. Ali has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al- Hamid from Ishaq ibn Ghalib who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once asked, ‘O Ishaq, how many people can you find to whom this verse, ‘ . . . They are pleased when you give them something from it, but if they receive nothing, they become angry with you,’ (9:58) applies? The Imam then said, ‘They are more than two thirds of the people.’”

- Publisher content rights, translator attribution and structural checks, with independent publisher-page spot checks—not scholarly authentication or printed-edition collation. Historical text and scholarly reference strings may contain source errors; they are not silently corrected. No full commentary prose or inferred narrator identity is added. Muʿjam coverage, where present, is only the supplied excerpt, not the complete work.
