Published English translation

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Mu‘awiyah ibn Shurayh who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘On plantation there are two rights. One is that for which one is held responsible and the other is that which one must give. I then asked, ‘What is the right for which I am held responsible and what is that which I must give?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The one for which you are held responsible is one out of ten or one out of twenty and the one which you must give is because of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘On the day of harvest give his right. . . .’ (6:142) meaning your harvesting something after something. 5 I think he said, ‘bale after bale until the end.”’
