Published English translation

3. Ali has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘If you find a man in dying condition, dictate to him the relieving words: ‘Allah, the Most Forbearing, the Most Honorable, is the only Lord who must be worshipped. Allah, the Most High, the Most Great, is the only Lord who must be worshipped. It is Allah, Lord of seven heavens and seven earths, all that is between them and beneath them, Lord of the great Throne who is free of all defects, and it is only Allah, Lord of the worlds who deserves all praise.’ Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), then said, ‘Had you met ‘Ikrimah in his dying condition you could have benefited him.’ He was asked, ‘In what way he could benefit him?’ The Imam replied, ‘By dictating to him the matters of your belief.’”
