Published English translation
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ibn ’Udhaynah from Muhammad ibn Muslim and Zurarah from and Mu’ammar ibn Yahya and ’Isma‘il al-Ju’fiy who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘There is no particularly prescribed prayer to say in Salah (prayer) for a deceased. You can pray whatever prayer you like; and the most deserving is the believing person who has just died and that such prayer begins with prayer for the Messenger of Allah by saying, ‘O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause.’”

- Publisher content rights, translator attribution and structural checks, with independent publisher-page spot checks—not scholarly authentication or printed-edition collation. Historical text and scholarly reference strings may contain source errors; they are not silently corrected. No full commentary prose or inferred narrator identity is added. Muʿjam coverage, where present, is only the supplied excerpt, not the complete work.
